Farmers urged to continue implementing validation studies in FFSs

Famers in Nkhotakota district have been urged to continue using validation studies in their Farmer Field Schools (FFS) even when Kulima Better project phases out.

Speaking during a FFS tour on Monday, Project Manager for Evangelical Association of Malawi (AEM) for Salima and Nkhotakota, Patrick Kamalizeni said as the project is phasing out in December 2022 the extension officers should continue providing services to the schools.

“We have put in place strategies to ensure continuity and are currently facilitating the mainstreaming of Kulima Better activities into the ADDs and district agriculture office work plans.

“What we want to see is that even after phasing out of farmers should continue conducting the validation studies in their farmer field schools,” he said.
