“When we look at the Flames, we see them as a platform to bring Malawians together. Football is a crowd puller and a place where people enjoy a certain experience and as Nico being part, the people will be more affiliated to our products and services”.
While urging other corporate citizens to support the initiative, Flames Resource Mobilization Taskforce Chairman, Jabbar Alide expressed gratitude to Nico for understanding the plight that the Flames is in and coming to their rescue.
“We targeted to raise K30 million from the golf tournament and right now we have pledges in excess of K30 million. Overall, we are aiming to raise about K450 million and though the pledges have excessed our target, we are still very far.
“We have other avenues to raise funds including dinner with the president and we have hope of reaching the target. We have pledge from the government and FDH bank to fund part of the budget.” Alide said.
