Airtel Malawi Plc customers stand a chance to win K5 milion as a grand prize in a promotion dubbed ‘Airtel Yabeba’ when they recharge or top up with at least K200 airtime a week.
Speaking on the sidelines of the launch of the promotion which was held at Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC) in Lilongwe on Wednesday, Airtel Acting Marketing Director, Thokozani Sande said the mobile service provider decided to come up with the promotion after hitting 5 million subscribers mark in December last year.
“In 2018 we launched the Bandulo Bandulo promotion and awarded 30 millionaires across the country. This time around, Airtel Yabeba is a celebration of our 5 million subscriber milestone and a testament of the faith and support from our customers.
“The promotion is also one way of thanking our customers and channel partners for granting us the opportunity to create a community of customers who we can continue to connect with and support,” Sande said.
According to Sande, through the promotion, Airtel’s channel partners comprising brand ambassadors, distributors and franchisees will also stand a chance to win mountain bikes, 4G smartphones and airtime stock worth K500, 000.
She said the channel partners will have to achieve their recharge sells targets to stand a chance to win.
One of the Airtel customers, Debrah Ganunga commended Airtel for introducing the promotion saying that if she would win K5 million she will embark on farming business and help creating jobs for the youth in the country.
“The promotion is quite interesting, if I would stand a chance to win the grand prize of the promotion, I can open a farm and become a commercial farmer and after that I would employ youth to support my business hence contributing something to the country,” Ganunga said.
The launch was spiced by live perfomance form Skeffa Chimoto, and DJ VJ Ken.
The promotion which runs from May 13, 2021 to August 15, 2021, will also reward customers with free minutes, data and SMSs for use at night from 9pm to 5am valid for 3 days when they recharge with a minimum of K100 airtime.
In addition to that, 150 and 3,000 customers will also stand a chance to win consolation cash prizes of K100, 000 monthly and K10, 000 weekly respectively.
