Kawale OC takes on board Chiefs, Block leaders in the fight against crime
Kawale Police Officer In-Charge, Mr Aubrey Kawale, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) on June 22, 2021 took his turn to meet traditional leaders within Kawale in a meeting that took place within parameters of Kawale Police Station.
This follows the same that took place at Traditional Authority Tsabango's headquarters on June 8, 2021.
Speaking during the meeting the Officer in charge appreciated the good working environment created by Chiefs within Kawale.
"Kawale chiefs have been protecting this office during the time of demonstrations. This shows the love and ownership you have towards this office and law enforcers. So this meeting has been called so that we know each other and we continue from where my predecessor stopped and further encourage you to continue being patriotic," said Kawale.
Kawale emphasised that the battle against crime is incomplete if we exclude the Chiefs therefore, it is my sincere honour to take you aboard as we gear up in the fight against crime.
"Lets join hands in this fight and be assured that the door of my office is wide open."
Furthermore Mr Kawale lamented the tendacy of Police Officers who give Chiefs invitation letters in criminal matters which turn to be a crew for offenders to escape arrests.
"Let us do our part when it comes to criminal matters as you do yours as traditional leaders ,If you receive such letters send them back to me," said the OC.
Concurring with the Officer In-Charge, the Station Officer Superintendent Aggrey Khonje said he always send back any complaint that is worthy to be handled by Chiefs.
Dr Alex Chapondela of conflict resolution management welcomed the Officer In-Charge on behalf of all the chiefs present and further advised the chiefs to have Community Policing forums in their respective areas .
On the same gathering chiefs took advantage to nominate an oversight committee.
