Mafco upbeat for a victory against Mzuzu Warriors on Sunday

Salima based Malawi Armed Forces College (Mafco) Football Club says a draw against Mzuzu Warriors on Sunday is not an option as they are aiming to secure a place in top four of the country’s top flight league. Mafco’s Head Coach Temwa Msuku said in an interview that a victory for them is a must as they working on rebuilding their team. Msuku however revealed it is difficult to plan for the encounter on grounds that they (Mafco) are not aware of status of their opponents but says he is optimistic that he will collect maximum points following their goalless draw against defending champions Nyasa Big Bullets Saturday last week at Civo Stadium. “We are not aware of their best performing players, and we don’t know their play style because we didn’t play against them during the pre-season. But with the draw we had with Bullets last week and how my boys trained this week, their fitness is on point and there is high competition. We are going to Mzuzu to collect maximum which will do us good in near future,” said Msuku. Msuku played down fears on absence of Mafco’s key players Martin Masoatheka and Maurice Chiumia who are serving red cards saying there are replacements capable to deliver. Mafco against Bullets at Civo stadium “There are replacements to help us in the game, so their absence will not affect us that much. But we will miss them because they are our senior players we have been relying on,” said Msukwa. Speaking after Warriors’ third consecutive at Karonga Stadium on Friday, Chirwa said his boys will work hard to get a victory.
