Mbulu’s Flames perfomance earns him a promotion at MDF

Richard Mbulu’s outstanding performance with the Malawi 1 Football team has earned him a promotion from corporal to sergeant. Mbulu who is a Soldier in the Malawi Defence Force (MDF) helped the Flames secure its place at the 2021 Cameroon Afcon finals as he headed home a vital goal as Flames defeated Cranes of Uganda at the country’s football epicenter Kamuzu Stadium. According to MDF acting Spokesperson, Major Emmanuel Mlelemba, Mbulu has been promoted following his contribution to the Flames to qualify for Afcon finals. Major Mlelemba said MDF believes in motivating sports personalities. Mbulu : promoted to Sergeant “Mbulu was exemplary and he contributed a lot to the Flames to qualify for Afcon finals. As MDF, we believe in motivating our sports personalities and we are happy with his performance,” said Mlelemba. On his part, the Baroka Swallows Fc forward said he received the news with excitement and thanked MDF for recognizing him. Writing on his official Facebook page, Mbulu thanked all his fans for congratulatory messages they have been sending him on the promotion. MDF has in the past been promoting its sports personalities for their outstanding performance in various sporting activities.
