The Ministry of Education says it has launched an investigation on Kalibu Academy’s alleged abuse of students.
Social media was awash with news that a male teacher at the academy attempted to rape a female student at the school.
Through a press statement, the ministry says it has noted with the reports on social media about abuse of children at Kalibu Academy in particular a case of a male teacher who is alleged to have attempted to rape a female student at the school.
According to the statement signed by secretary for education Chikondano Mussa, the Ministry has launched an investigation into the issue and is working with relevant authorities to get to the bottom of the matter.
“The Ministry would like inform the general public that it has launched an investigation into the issue and is working with relevant authorities to get the bottom of the matter,” reads the statement.
The ministry has meanwhile urged the public to forward any information on the issue or any similar incidences at the school to the ministry via a mobile line.
