Muluzi gets Covid-19 second jab

Former President of the Republic of Malawi Dr. Bakili Muluzi has on Tuesday received his second jab of the AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine at his BCA Hill residence in Blantyre.

Bakili received his first dose of the vaccine on 15th March 2021.

Speaking after receiving the jab, the Malawi’s first multiparty President urged the citizenry to keep guard of Covid-19 preventive measures and get vaccinated to curb further spread of the virus.

“The fake stories about the vaccine are just so rampant and the social media has contributed heavily to this spread of misinformation. The public must ignore all these fake stories about the vaccine,” said Muluzi.

Muluzi further called for a consented effort in the fight against the pandemic which has slowed down people’s businesses and caused some people to lose their jobs.

Meanwhile, Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital in Blantyre has runout of the AstraZeneca Covid-19 Vaccine.

As of Tuesday June 15 2021, a total of 387, 363 vaccine doses have been administered in the country.
