Mwanamvekha, Kabambe trial adjourned to March 2022

The Lilongwe Magistrates Court has adjourned the case of former Minister of Finance Joseph Mwanamvekha and former Reserve Bank Governor Dalitso Kabambe to 10 March 2022.

The two are accused of doctoring financial figures that were submitted to the Inter1 Monetary Fund and the World Bank while they were in office.

Director of Public Prosecution (DPP), Steve Kayuni, revealed that the State is ready to begin the trial as directed by the court.

"We are preparing well and we will bring witnesses when the trial starts," said Kayuni.

Mwanamvekha and Kabambe are answering two counts of abuse of office and false accounting.
