Nursery owner in cooler for defiling a minor
Police in Dedza has urged parents to keep watch of their children following an arrest of a nursery school director who admitted to have defiled a 6-year-old child in the district.
Dedza Police Station, Deputy Spokesperson, Cassim Manda has identified the suspect as Austin Chilaga.
According to Manda, the suspect is alleged to have given the kids assignment to mention their favorite colors before going home.
"The learners did as instructed and were told to go home, leaving the victim alone with the school director. So, when he saw that they were two in the classroom, he ordered the victim to sleep on a classroom bench, pulled off her pant and mercilessly forced himself on her," Manda said
The district's deputy police publicist said, Chilaga then sent the victim home after buying her kamba puffs.
According to Manda, after two days, the victim started experiencing difficulties in walking, which stimulated her mother to ask more about it.
He said the victim named the suspect as the one responsible and demonstrated how he inserted his manhood into her private part.
He further said on close observation, it was discovered that she was also having bruises.
"Since then, the suspect had been on the run until his arrest on Monday. When interrogated suspect admitted to defiling the child," he added
He further said that Chilaga went on revealing that he defiled the girl on July 5, 2021.
Meanwhile, Dedza police is advising the parents and guardians to regularly check their children whenever they are back from school.
Chilanga has since responded to the news that has shocked many including police in the district blaming Satan to have influenced his evil act on an innocent girlchild.
Austin Chilaga, 25, hails from Kanyimbo village in the area of Traditional Authority Njolomole in Ntcheu district.
