Region 5 games start in 100 days
It is now exactly 100 days remaining for the region 5 games to start, a competition which will be hosted by Malawi.
Chief Executive Officer for Region 5, Emma Mabvumbwe, said the 100 days count down is a ticking board which is going to help the team to tick things that have been finished in its preparation and know what have been remained unfinished.
Speaking during the launch of 100 days count down in Lilongwe, Mabvumbwe said everything is in order for the country to host the 2022 Region 5 games in December.
"Within the hundred days, everything is ticking off, and we are expecting to deliver beyond our expectations," she said.
She added that everybody is taking part in the preparation and further thanked stakeholders including Ministry of Youth for supporting them.
On his part, Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Youth Isaac Katopola, added said 100 days is a reminder for the country to finalize the work of preparation.
"The Region 5 competition involves youths from the age of 14 to 20. The remaining 100 days give us a good time to finalize our preparation," he said.
However, Katopola urged the Mayor of Lilongwe City Councilor Richard Banda to make the city clean until the time of hosting the games.
He also advised the youths to advertise the games through different social media platforms.
Katopola also urged the media to write about the goodness of the games so as to attract the masses to watch the games.

Commenting on the preparation of Lilongwe City Council, Mayor of the city Richard Banda said the council is now finalising the cleaning of the city, and commended the coming of Region 5 games that people are going to benefit in terms of money and employment.
"We are finalising the touches of cleaning the city so that it can attract the visitors. Let me also mention that the Region 5 games will benefit the city and the country at large as it will among others create employment opportunities," said Banda.
Region 5 games is expected to commerce in December and it will take place in Lilongwe at Silver Stadium, Civo Stadium, Kamuzu Institute for Youth and Griffin Sayenda Complex.
