Silver fires technical panel for not meeting season target

Silver Strikers Football Club has fired head coach Danny Kabwe, his assistants MacDonald Mtetemera and MacDonald Yobe for failing to meet season target.

Confirming the sacking of head coach Kabwe, Silver Strikers Board of Trustees Chairperson Dr. Victor Madhlopa said Kabwe has been told to pack as he has failed to meet conditions the team had set for him.

“We tasked the coach to guide the club to not less than 24 wins of the possible 30 league games. We are now on 14 wins with 7 games remaining, which means the set targets are clearly not going to be met at the current form.

It was therefore mutually agreed to end the wonderful relationship here. Silver Strikers wishes Danny Kabwe all the best in his future endeavors,” said Madhlopa.

The area 47 outfits gave away a 1-0 lead over the weekend to lose to defending champions Nyasa Big Bullets 2-1 at Kamuzu Stadium.

With 7 games to wrap up the season, the Central Bankers are on position two, two points from leaders Nyasa Big Bullets who have a game in hand advantage.
