Zomba Changalume Member of Parliament, Bizwick Million, has joined UTM at a rally which was held at Maela Ground in the Constituency.
Million won as an independent candidate in by-elections which were held on 30th March this year following the death of the Constituency’s legislator John Chikalimba of Peoples Party (PP).
Million who was welcomed the party’s Officials said he has joined UTM after being impressed with the party’s manifesto which he said aims to uplift livelihoods of Malawians.
“Looking at UTM’s manifesto and slogan, I thought it wise to join the party. I won as an independent member of Parliament with help of a committee which was constituted. I’m really thankful for the support they render to me. Through joining the party, we will learn a lot of things,” said Milliion.
Million further said construction of two classroom blocks at Mwanoka Secondary school will be completed in two months’ time which he said will help to promote education in his area. Million also revealed that from the day he was elected as the constituency’s legislator, he has constructed bridges, under-5 clinic in the area as well as drilling boreholes.
Welcoming Million to UTM Party, the party’s Secretary General Patricia Kaliati hailed Million for the bold decision to join the party.
Kaliati said the decision will help uplift lives of people from Zomba Changalume to a better living standard.
“UTM is getting bigger now and then. Million has seen his vision of moving forward can be achieved by joining UTM. Let me thank him for joining the party after being impressed by our manifesto. Million has joined UTM at the time we want more youths to join the party,” said Kaliati.
Kaliati also hailed State President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera for incorporating all Tonse Alliance partners’ manifesto and asked for unity in the implementation of the manifesto.
Among the party officials that welcomed Million are secretary general Patricia Kaliati, publicity secretary Frank Mwenifumbo and Eastern region governor Julius Paipi.
