Zomba DHO contented with people getting Covid-19 vaccine

Zomba District Health Office (DHO) has expressed gratitude for the turn-out of people that are receiving the second dose of the covid-19 vaccine.

The sentiments were made during a press briefing that Zomba DHO organized at their premises.

Speaking during the presser, Spokesperson for Zomba DHO Anord Ndalira said they received half of the doses they received during the first consignment.

“As Zomba, we only received 11, 000 doses of the Covid-19 vaccine as compared to the first consignment in which we received 22, 256. Those who haven’t received their jabs yet, should wait until the second week of August when the country will receive other consignments of Johnson and Johnson, Pfizer, and AstraZeneca,” said Ndalira.

Ndalira further urged Traditional leaders and Chiefs and other stakeholders in the district to be at the forefront to sensitize the masses on the importance of vaccines in order to save people’s life.

Ndalira also condemned the tendency of other people who shun to go to the hospital upon testing positive for the virus but resort to purchasing portable oxygen cylinders to treat themselves saying it is unacceptable and putting lives at risk.
